PRODUCTS
In the range of 6 by 0 inches are all the rocks of this product. This is the original and typical product produced by COMSA, mostly used as raw material by the wallboard plants. A second product added to the company's production is 2 by 0 inches and is mainly used for cement manufacturing.
MINING PROCESS
HOW DO WE MEASURE OUR MATERIAL’S QUALITY?
In COMSA’s laboratory, product samples from the mine and from each of the vessel loadings are analyzed to ensure the produced gypsum meets the customer’s specifications and expectations.
The laboratory receives samples from the mine and during each vessel loading. The samples that are received from the mine, are taken simultaneously every five feet of depth from each drill hole in the mine. When received, the samples are labeled by the number of the drill/blast-hole and the depth. The mine samples are tested for the gypsum purity and salt content.
Likewise, from each vessel loaded the lab receives samples, which are taken from every 1,000 tons loaded onboard. Each sample is tested to analyze its gypsum purity, salt content, free moisture and rock size distribution to ensure the material meets the customer specifications and expectations.
